WayVibe Privacy Policy

Your music stays personal.

WayVibe is built as a local-first music app. This policy explains what information the app uses, what stays on your device, when third-party services are involved, and the choices you have.

Effective date: March 23, 2026
Applies to the WayVibe mobile app

1. Summary

WayVibe does not require you to create an account to use the core app. The app is designed to keep your library, playlists, playback state, and zone settings primarily on your device.

Stored locally on your device

Your imported music file paths, playlist data, playback settings, zone settings, cached artwork, and app preferences.

Sent only when needed

Location data for geofencing on your device, purchase data through Google Play and RevenueCat, and optional requests to map and music metadata providers.

2. Information We Process

Local music library information

When you add music files or folders, WayVibe reads file and metadata information such as track title, artist, album, duration, embedded art, and the file path needed to play your music.

Location information

If you enable location permissions, WayVibe uses your device location to power zone-based playback. Location checks are used to determine whether you are inside or outside a zone. Core zone logic runs on your device.

Purchase information

If you choose to upgrade to Pro, purchases are handled by Google Play and RevenueCat. Those services may process app user identifiers, product identifiers, transaction status, country or storefront data, and related subscription or entitlement information.

Metadata and artwork lookups

If you use metadata enhancement or artwork discovery features, the app may send track-related search information, such as artist and title, to third-party metadata providers to find artwork or metadata matches.

3. How We Use Information

4. Where Data Is Stored

WayVibe stores most app data locally on your device using on-device storage. This includes your library database, cached artwork, playlists, app settings, and zone configuration.

We do not currently require a WayVibe user account for core playback, and we do not upload your local music library to our own servers just to run the app.

5. Third-Party Services

WayVibe may interact with the following third-party services:

These services may receive technical information such as your IP address, device request headers, purchase status data, or search terms needed to fulfill their part of the service.

6. Your Choices

7. Data Retention

Data stored locally remains on your device until you remove it, clear app data, uninstall the app, or change related settings. Purchase records and entitlement data may also be retained by Google Play and RevenueCat according to their own policies.

8. Children’s Privacy

WayVibe is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. If you believe a child has provided personal information through WayVibe, contact us and we will review the request.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date on this page.
